Campobaja

The dining area at Campobaja.

Colima 124-E, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

Great seafood isn’t hard to come by in Mexico City. But if you’re bored of the usual (albeit excellent) tuna-tostada-and-mezcal lunch at Contramar or Entremar, Campobaja is the place to go. It’s a lovely terrace, clad with plants and ceiling fans, and overlooking the bustling Calle Colima. The fish is sourced from the same supplier as Contramar and Entremar, but you can indulge here in perfect peace. Don’t miss out on the oysters, the aguachile, and the Peruvian–style ceviche. Everyone here is a local, and voices are usally hushed—it’s all about the food. —Elena Clavarino
