Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives

Sept 14, 2019 – Feb 2, 2020
1380 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montréal, QC H3G 1J5, Canada

An ancient Egyptian adage says, “A house has the character of the person who lives in it.” Using non-invasive technology on six mummies from the British Museum’s ample collection, this exhibition looks at the bodies housed within the bandages, and then opens the door to the characters inside. Digital visualizations, alongside over 200 Egyptian objects, work to reconstruct these individuals’ lives, which date from about 900 B.C. to 180 A.D. —J.V.
