Bistro Paul Bert

Bistrot Paul Bert

18 Rue Paul Bert, 75011 Paris, France

Loving red meat is not a prerequisite for visiting Le Bistro Paul Bert, but vegans will be happier elsewhere. This cozy, frills-free restaurant on the Parisian street of the same name in the eleventh arrondissement has been churning out one of the most reliable steak frites in town for decades. There are other delights on the menu, including a perfectly-dressed salade verte and a battery of classic French desserts (especially the Paris-Brest). Here, it feels like Paris as it once was and, in some ways, as it has always been. —Ashley Baker
