Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind

Yoko Ono with Glass Hammer, 1967.

Bankside, London SE1 9TG, UK

Yoko Ono has never been shy about making a statement. In works such as Cut Piece (1964), in which she invited viewers to cut off her clothing, and the famously banned Film No. 4 (Bottoms), made in 1966–67, activism has been at the center of her radical vision. Now the Tate brings the most controversial of Ono’s art back into focus. Spanning seven decades, including the late-60s London years—when Ono met John Lennon—the exhibition lets the wacky, experimental, and often funny artist take center stage. —Clara Molot
