Nari Ward

Axel Dupeux, Nari Ward, Portrait, 2023.

Until July 28
Via Chiese, 2, 20126 Milano MI, Italy

The Jamaican-born artist Nari Ward has spent the last 29 years of his life living and working in Harlem. Ward makes art out of found materials—objects, remnants, humble things. Since the early 1990s, he has combined the folk traditions of Jamaica with the urban textures of his Harlem neighborhood, teasing out the similarities between the old ways and modernity. Ward’s video, sound, and performative works come together in this exhibition. —Elena Clavarino
