The birthplace of the American Revolution, Boston is a quintessential American city. To experience its 400-year history, be sure to visit some of its oldest landmarks. Head to the Paul Revere house, one of the few colonial homes left untouched; explore Beacon Hill, one of the citys oldest neighborhoods; walk in the Boston Common, the oldest city park in the United States; and visit Harvard University, the first college established in the American colonies. For a comprehensive historical tour, don’t miss the two-and-a-half mile, self-guided Freedom Trail tour, which tells the story of the American Revolution. Boston is also home to wonderful museums, both big and small. We love the Museum of Fine Arts, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. To get a taste of Boston’s emerging food scene, try High Street Place, a modern food hall featuring 20 of Boston’s best chefs. And be sure to catch a Red Sox game at Fenway Park.
