Concerts in the Parks

June 14–19, 2022
10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023, USA

Every summer since 1965, the New York Philharmonic has hosted a Concerts in the Parks series, inviting New Yorkers to enjoy music under the stars. Following a two-year pandemic hiatus, the series is back this summer with free classical concerts across Brooklyn (Prospect Park, June 17), the Bronx (Van Cortlandt Park, June 14), Manhattan (Central Park, June 15), Queens (Cunningham Park, June 16), and Staten Island (St. George Theatre, June 19). This year’s Central Park program includes Wagner (Prelude to Act One of Die Meistersinger von Nürnburg); pieces by members of the Philharmonic’s Very Young Composer program; Bruch (Violin Concerto No. 1); and Dvořák (Symphony No. 7). Jaap van Zweden conducts. And don’t forget to stay for the fireworks. —Julia Vitale
