Not just a parade of love, but one of solidarity and resistance as well. For the first time ever, the Human Rights Campaign has declared a “state of emergency” for L.G.B.T.Q.+ Americans due to rising hate, threats, and multiple legislative assaults around the country. Our community and our allies have to be stronger and louder in the face of these attacks. It’s time to let our queer children know that, as President Joe Biden recently put it in a Pride celebration at the White House, “you are loved, you are heard, you are understood, and you belong.”
