Spring Cashmere Sweater

We met Davide Baroncini some years ago, when he was selling suits for a designer we are too discreet to mention. He had come to New York to learn the fashion business, and apparently he did O.K.: he’s now in L.A., where he recently launched Ghiaia, a line that’s perfect for all the warmer days ahead. The name means “gravel” in Italian, and Baroncini chose it because of the grays and blues in the small stones on the beach of the village he grew up in. But there’s nothing rough about these sweaters and jackets, made in supersoft cashmere or cotton, and with the perfect amount of tailoring and fit. Right now, the piece we’re digging the most is this cashmere raglan crewneck in amaretto. ($745, ghiaiacashmere.com)

New Jeans

Alex Mill

If you’re prone to stains, you may have an aversion to white denim. We relate, which is why this pale-pink style from Alex Mill is such a welcome addition to our spring wardrobe. It works especially well because the utilitarian look—high waist, wide legs, and patch pockets—is a sharp contrast to the sweet shade. For millennial cred, pair it with a tonal tee or button-up, but a crisp white oxford and Converse will work very nicely, too. ($125, net-a-porter.com)

Slip On

Souliers Martinez

It’s finally time to give the boots a rest. If you buy only one new pair of shoes each spring, make it these quasi-dressy T-straps from Souliers Martinez. Originally from Spain, the brand’s designer, Julien Martinez Calmettes, is now living in France, but he launched his collection after a visit to Alicante, where he encountered the art of hand-lacing. Now the craft is at the heart of everything he does, and is seen with especially stunning effect in these elegant pumps. Yes—they’re destined for your dresses and pants, but for an especially spring ’20 look, simply try them with long, tailored shorts. ($570, net-a-porter.com)

Cigarette Clips

Finally, a cigarette we can all get behind. Spare yourself the small talk at dull cocktail parties with these cheeky hair clips from Art School—a newish London-based brand from Eden Loweth and Tom Barratt—which are sure to be the main topic of conversation. Made of white, yellow, and brown crystals, they’ll add a dose of the subversive to even your most classic looks. To achieve peak Margot Tenenbaum, go for a slightly off-center part and wear both together, on one side. ($101, matchesfashion.com)
