Gio Ponti: Amare L'Architettura

Nov 7, 2019 – Sept 27, 2020
Via Guido Reni, 4A, 00196 Roma RM, Italy

Gio Ponti, who died 40 years ago, was a master of many trades: artist, art director, designer, teacher, publisher, and poet. And then there’s architecture. Ponti designed over 100 buildings, including Milan’s Pirelli Tower and Caracas’s Villa Planchart. As Charles Eames wrote in 1967, “Ponti is one of the rare ones—an architect who considers everything as architecture and has practiced architecture in all his work.” This retrospective celebrates the many mediums of Ponti’s prodigious career. —J.V.
